Northern Ontario Exports Program

ABOUT

We provide resources, financial assistance, and targeted training

Our support helps export-ready small and medium enterprises from Northern Ontario kick open the doors to new markets.

We empower companies to sell beyond Ontario’s borders

Supporting the growth and diversification of Northern Ontario’s economy since 2011

The Northern Ontario Exports Program is founded on advancing company success through trade. Inspired by their growth ambitions and world-class products and services, we support companies in Northern Ontario to access new markets. By providing our companies with training and funding, they develop the skills and implement the activities needed to diversify their customer base and drive new sales outside of Ontario. By growing through trade, Northern Ontario’s small and medium enterprises protect and grow employment and strengthen their communities.

Acknowledgement

The Northern Ontario Exports Program serves a vast region with great diversity, ingenuity, potential, and beauty. This region has been inhabited by Indigenous peoples from the beginning. We thank the generations of people who have been stewards of this place and we acknowledge the First Peoples on whose traditional territories we live and work. Our office in Greater Sudbury is in the Robinson-Huron Treaty territory on the traditional territory of the Atikameksheng Anishnaabeg. From this city with 330 lakes, we support companies across Northern Ontario situated on the traditional territory of the Cree, Moose Cree, Ojibway/Chippewa, Nipissing First Nation Anishnabe, Anishnaabeg, Atikameksheng Anishnaabeg, Oji-Cree, Mushkegowuk, and Algonquin peoples.

We recognize the contributions diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples have made in shaping and strengthening local communities, this region, the province, and Canada.
